Bassett Manor’s design objective was to create a home-like environment for its residents, visitors and staff within a multi-bedded facility.

“Home” is reinforced with interior Neighborhoods and a Main Street of Dining Rooms, a Living Room, a Beauty Salon, a Library and a Multi-Purpose space.   An Arts and Crafts Room is also located on Main Street which has access to a courtyard for special community events and to the Promenade which leads to the Dining spaces.

The Neighborhoods are enhanced by comfortable lounges with views and access to the outdoors.  Colors and finishes cue the residents to their own Neighborhood.

Most of the 40 resident rooms are single with several double rooms for couples, siblings, relatives and friends.  The detailing throughout says “Home” to a generation that grew up in and around traditional houses with wood trim, paneled doors, wall coverings and period lighting.

A green site provides the setting for this 40,000 SF facility.  Careful attention was given to the separation of visitor and service activities.  Views were enhanced with thoughtful landscaping.
