The Gardner PLUS Team is All Aboard in the Fight Against Hunger
The fight against hunger has been and continues to be a long, difficult journey, and with the donation of time and food Gardner PLUS tries to make that journey easier. Built of cans and boxes of food, our award winning CANstruction 2009 entry depicts the engine and coal car of a steam locomotive, the heart and soul of this mighty form of transportation. Just as the engine needs fuel to travel the rails, people need nutritious meals to help them stay on the right track.
The Rochester design and construction and business community joined forces this fall in the local CANstruction competition and the thousands of cans of food used for all the structures were donated to Foodlink, Rochester’s food bank. Since CANstruction’s inception nationally and then internationally, over ten MILLION pounds of food have been donated to aid in the fight against hunger. We are proud to have been a small part of this amazing accomplishment.
