MS Achievement Center Receives Humanitarian Award
Unity Health System’s MS Achievement Center was recently named the 2007 recipient of the Katherine Donohoe Humanitarian Award, presented by the Upstate New York chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Founded in 1993 through the joint efforts of Unity CEO Timothy McCormick and former Upstate New York NMSS president James Ahearn, the Center was the second of its type to be established nationally.
All of us at Gardner PLUS extend our congratulations to Unity Health System for this well-deserved recognition.

Gardner PLUS Architects Receives Outstanding Project Award From CSI
Gardner PLUS Architects was honored by Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) with the Outstanding Project Award for renovation to the Birthing Unit at Lakeside Memorial Hospital in Brockport, NY. The award was given to the project team which includes the Hospital, LeCesse Construction, IBC Engineering, and Gardner PLUS in recognition of excellence in communication throughout design and construction. The effort involved all team members and was made possible through conscientious application of CSI systems. Gardner PLUS Architects standard business practices flow in accordance with the CSI mission statement “to advance and promote fellowship, excellence and professionalism, synergistically increasing the effectiveness, image and impact of our Chapters as they serve their members and the construction industry.“ The symmetry of each organization’s endeavors paved the way to another successful project and recognition by CSI.
The renovations were undertaken to create a private, home-like setting to make the birthing experience as comfortable and relaxing as possible. Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Post Partum, or LDRP, rooms define what state-of-the-art means for obstetrics units. Brockport residents strongly supported this project because this type of birthing environment was not available locally. Further information on this project can be located under Experience/Healthcare/Obstetrics/Lakeside Memorial Hospital Obstetrics on the Gardner PLUS website.
The exceptional teamwork and effective communication tools used by Lakeside, LeCesse Construction, IBC Engineering, and Gardner PLUS Architects cultivated a successful project. Congratulations to all team members who worked on this project!
